In a blogpost announcing the launch of Google Pay, Pali Bhat, Vice-President of Product Management for Payments at Google, said that the company would bring in both
Google Wallet and Android Pay under the Google Pay umbrella for easier, simpler and safer usage.
The firm had recently unveiled a new unified payments service that brings together
Google Wallet and Android Pay.

Google Wallet), which can then be redeemed online or in-store.
Apple Pay and
Google Wallet are examples of an NFC based system which require a compatible device and reader.
Google Wallet Google's payment service allows users to send and receive money through its Wallet app, via Gmail or on the web at wallet.google.com.
One of the mobile payment services that is poised to become Apple Pay's largest competitor is
Google Wallet. (47) Although some of the features of
Google Wallet, specifically the transfer of money at the point-of-sale, are being transferred to Android Pay, (48)
Google Wallet will maintain many features, and together the two Alphabet-owned (49) Apps will be competitive with Apple Pay.
The drug chain started accepting Apple Pay and
Google Wallet mobile payments in August and the following month began accepting Android Pay upon that platform's release.
This will enable entry of credible international players like PayPal and
Google Wallet.
