Maurice Shanahan (above) comes in from the defeat to Tipperary to start in the
half-forward line, while there is no room for Michael 'Brick' Walsh after speculation this week that the veteran would start.
Their
half-forward line were immense in the semi-final, winning frees, blocking clearances and their backs also impressed while stifling the Tipp attack.
Fit-again Hugh Maloney is also in contention for a place in the
half-forward line but Sheedy may be content to keep the NenaghEire Og clubman in reserve, with Pat Kerwick, Seamus Callinan and Munster final man of the match John O'Brien filling the
half-forward line positions.
But their forward line looks a bit light and may struggle if Brian Dooher and Stephen O'Neill don't contribute from the
half-forward line.
In the
half-forward line, Jason Doherty (above) makes a landmark 100th appearance for the county in what is an otherwise largely familiar line-up, with a particularly strong half-back line of Lee Keegan, Colm Boyle and Paddy Durcan.
It is hard to see that as a longterm remedy to the problems in the
half-forward line, and it robs the defence of a key man.
Armagh: Martin O'Rourke and John McEntee replace Paddy McKeever and Stephen Kernan in the
half-forward line.
He is presently recovering from a broken bone in his hand and manager John O'Mahony has been forced into leaving a vacancy in the
half-forward line to give the Tuam man every chance of making the game.
The experienced Walsh, a twotime All-Ireland winner is back in the
half-forward line after recovering from a hamstring injury that forced him to miss last Sunday's drawn game.
"They have been chopping and changing the
half-forward line all year and have two new faces at centre-field.
Having reached five semi-finals in six years before this one - and losing the 2014 final to Ballincollig - the Rosscarbery outfit weren't going to lose this one and John O'Rourke shone in the
half-forward line with five points from play.
