(2017) found: Arterial irrigation comes from the hepatic artery proper in 70 % of cases; from the hepatic artery proper and a branch of
left gastric artery (A12.2.12.013) in 25 %, from the hepatic artery proper plus a branch from
left gastric artery plus a branch from superior mesenteric artery (A12.2.12.053) in 3 %, and from the hepatic artery proper and a branch from superior mesenteric artery in 2 %.
If the acquisition parameters and timing of the contrast bolus are optimised, this resolution even allows visualisation of a tiny artery.6,7 In classical anatomical arterial pattern, coeliac axis gives rise to
left gastric artery (LGA) and then bifurcates into splenic artery and common hepatic artery (CHA).
The procedure is called
left gastric artery embolization.
[USA], Nov 27(ANI): Turns out, a novel interventional procedure known as
left gastric artery embolisation, which is generally used to treat obesity, leads to the loss of both fat and muscle.
Left gastric artery pseudoaneurysm as a sequelae of chronic pancreatitis: recognizing a life-threatening complication.
Among visceral artery aneurysms,
left gastric artery aneurysms are rare (1).
The other 6 collateral circulations (6/22, 27.3%) were found in the arc of Buhler, splenic artery, jejunal artery, omental artery, hepatic artery, and
left gastric artery.
Systematic removal of LN station numbers 7 (
left gastric artery), 8a and 8p (common hepatic artery), 9 (celiac artery), 11 (splenic artery), 12a and 12p/b (hepatoduodenal ligament), 13 (retropancreatic), and 14v (superior mesenteric vein) was performed, whereas station 10 (splenic hilum) was removed optionally.
The celiac trunk branched into two vessels: the
left gastric artery and a hepatosplenic trunk, which further divided into splenic and common hepatic arteries (Figure 1).
When the truncus level has been reached, arteria hepatica communis and the
left gastric artery, which became easily identified because of the prestenotic dilation, were prepared from the exit site, but the splenic artery was not isolated, as it was the branch of truncus coeliacus reaching to the caudal part of pancreas.
The other observed variants are the
left gastric artery arising from the abdominal aorta (Figure-3), a very small common hepatic artery bifurcating immediately into the hepatic proper and the gastroduodenal artery (Figure-4) and common coeliac-mesenteric trunk (Figure-3) in 1% each (Figure-5).
Suggested collateral pathways in cases of splenic artery thrombosis include anastomosis between the right gastroepiploic artery (from the gastroduodenal artery) and left gastroepiploic artery (from the splenic artery) on the greater curvature of the stomach and gastric branches of the
left gastric artery and short gastric arteries (9).
