With the latest 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Platinum processor, ASUS servers deliver a 1.21X performance improvement in Linpack, a 1.83X performance improvement in Stream Triad, and an incredible 17X improvement in AI and deep learning inference over previous-generation processors.
The system was listed as delivering 1.09Pflop/s LINPACK rating on the November 2016 TOP500 list--putting it at 96 on that list.
In the TOP500 performance testing, ABCI achieved a LINPACK performance(1) of 19.88 petaflops(2) using its 1,088 computational nodes, due to application acceleration technology and other technologies developed by Fujitsu and Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd.
At the time PKDGRAV3 was benchmarked on Titan, the supercomputer was ranked 2nd fastest supercomputer in the world, scoring a performance of 17.59 Pflops (measured LINPACK performance).
The Sunway TaihuLight has a computing score (Linpack Mark) of 93 Petaflops and outperforms the previous number one by three times.
It is based on a speed test called LINPACK that measures the computer's ability to execute certain mathematical calculations in one second.
The TOP500 list is the semiannual ranking of the world's most powerful supercomputers and bases its rankings on the highest score measured using the Linpack benchmark suite, a special-purpose computer code that scores application runs in quadrillions of floating-point operations per second, or petaflops.
Compared to the previous generation, it provides up to two times the performance improvement on the LinPack spec, up to 45 percent improvement on the SPECint_rate benchmark and up to 28 percent better power efficiency on the Spec_Power benchmark.
