A colorless oily liquid ketone, C6H10O, having a honey-like odor, obtained from acetones and used as a solvent and in lacquers, paints, and varnishes.

The essential oil compositions were evaluated by GC- MS analysis and identified twenty four compounds as 94.37% of the total essential oil, where cyclohepta-1,3,5,-triene (16.07%), 2H-1,4-pyridoxazin-3(4H)-one (12.27%), L-carvenol (8.04%), p- cymene (9.15%), a-terpineol (7.98%), b-sitosterol (6.76%), tyranton (6.42%), mesityl oxide (6.34%), -terpinene (5.42%) and b-linalool (3.74%) were the major constituents.
1 (1- H) contained higher and branched aliphatic hydrocarbons, toluene, mesityl oxide, and significant amounts of diacetone alcohol, phthalates and PAHs.
Extraction process of gas oil with aqueous acetone, ethanol, mesityl oxide, and formic acid is also patented.
