Ruby Bailey has been named executive editor of the Columbia
Missourian. She is the first woman to lead the
Missourian's coverage in the newspaper's 109 years.
Kennedy is the former managing editor of the Columbia
Missourian, the journalism school's teaching newspaper.
The assets to be acquired include an interest in nearly 3,500 producing wells primarily in the Granite Wash,
Missourian Wash, Upper and Lower Cleveland and Tonkawa formations.
Priorities include fixing the roof and installing a central heating system to safely accommodate repairs to compressed natural gas vehicles, according to previous
Missourian reporting.
The land in northern Boone County was a gift from the estate of Jim Whitley, a former Missouri Department of Conservation employee who died in 2009, and his wife, Joanne, who died in 2010, the Columbia
Missourian (http://bit.ly/lbWGD51) reports.
While earning his degree, he wrote for the
Missourian and Missouri Ruralist.
The
Missourian exhibited a sharp, often irreverent sense of humor and once closed a speech with the exhortation: "Go forth in love and peace--be kind to dogs--and vote Democratic" (248).
Researchers found that while the amount of alcohol consumed didn't vary much among the students surveyed, "bisexual men and mostly straight women whose sexual orientation was in fluctuation during the college years reported the most negative consequences from alcohol misuse," Amelia Talley, an assistant professor in psychological sciences at Missouri, told the
