19 -- The Kilogram just got redefined and instead of being based upon a physical object that was established as the metric back in 1889, it is now based on a constant of nature, the
Planck's constant. Scientists unanimously voted for the new
Planck's constant based metric and for those unaware, the
Planck's constant is a physical constant that relates energy carried by a photon to its frequency.
With effect from May 20 next year, the kilogram will be defined on the basis of a calculation from
Planck's constant, a fundamental constant of quantum physics that expresses a relationship between energy and the frequency of subatomic particles such as photons.
From this result, we infer that the electron is formed by two indivisible elements: a quantum of electric charge and a quantum of magnetic flux, the product of which is equal to
Planck's constant. The electron's magnetic flux is simultaneously the cause and the consequence of the circular motion of the electric charge:
With regard to the eponyms list, Avogadro's number is more well-known than his hypothesis, and correct or standard renderings are Lot's wife,
Planck's constant, Wheatstone bridge, and Zorro's mask.
The new NIST measurement of
Planck's constant is 6.626069934 x 10-34 kg-m2/s, with an uncertainty of only 13 parts per billion.
The smallest unit of action is one quantum of action, which is a universal constant denoted by "h" (
Planck's constant) where n is an integer:
For example, Niels Bohr's work on the internal structure of the atom is firmly grounded in the accuracy of
Planck's constant, discovered in 1900, which explained the basic relation between energy and frequency.
where h (~6.626 x [10.sup.-34] [m.sup.2] x kg x [s.sup.-1]) is
Planck's constant, T (K) is the blackbody temperature, k (~1.381 x [10.sup.-23] [m.sup.2] x kg x [s.sup.-2] x [K.sup.-1]) is the Boltzmann constant, [lambda](m) is the wavelength, and c (~2998 x [10.sup.8] m x [s.sup.-1]) is the speed of light.
This task requires a highly accurate measurement of
Planck's constant, which links energy and frequency.
Planck's constant, for example, governs the relationship between energy and frequency.
Trinity, FL, January 25, 2015 --(PR.com)-- “Quantum Energy and Matter Creation” published in the Journal of Astrophysical Mechanics by Dimiter Bayramov, makes a novel interpretation of
Planck's constant and describes how the stars use gravity to filter thermal energy and create matter.
