Clinical findings alone are not sufficient in the diagnosis of anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the
pulmonary artery. On electrocardiogram, findings of acute or chronic anterior-lateral infarction are usually present.
Using the right femoral vein for access, a 5 FR (French) pigtail catheter was advanced into the main left
pulmonary artery. Angiography demonstrated the vascular anatomy in relation to the PAA (Figure 2).
Lesions in the
pulmonary artery and aorta, due to Cu deficiency, have been reported in several species (Bennetts and Hall, 1939; O'Dell, 1961; Shields, 1962; Guentner, 1976).
As well as measuring right heart pressures and measuring mixed venous oxygenation, the
pulmonary artery catheter (PAC) was modified with a thermistor to allow measurement of cardiac output.
In both types of surgical interventions, there is a risk of bleeding because the branches of the
pulmonary artery are very thin, fragile and are attached directly to the heart.
ROIs were placed in eleven locations in the pulmonary arterial tree, namely main
pulmonary artery, right
pulmonary artery, left
pulmonary artery, right upper lobar artery right interlobar
pulmonary artery, left upper lobar artery, left lower lobar artery, right upper lobe anterior segmental artery, right lower lobe medial segmental artery, left upper lobe anterior segment and left lower lobe medial segmental artery.
According to the company, the Cordella System enables proactive management and early detection of worsening heart failure and can be seamlessly integrated with a next generation
pulmonary artery (PA) pressure sensor, the Cordella Sensor, to streamline heart failure care management, reduce heart-failure-related hospitalisations, and support reimbursement for care delivery activities.
Echocardiography revealed a severe right heart chamber enlargement, right ventricle basal segments hypokinesia, and a significantly increased
pulmonary artery pressure.
Diagnostic right heart catheterization was performed and severe pulmonary hypertension was diagnosed PAP 110mmHg and PVR 8wum2 (suprasystemic
Pulmonary artery pressure).
Preoperative Evaluation of the Right Upper Lobe
Pulmonary Artery by 3D-CT Pulmonary Angiography vs.
As aorta occupies a central position, sinus of valsalva aneurysm can rupture into any chamber of the heart, interventricular septum, pericardium and
pulmonary artery. While most of the times it ruptures into the right ventricle or right atrium, rupture into the
pulmonary artery is rare,2 accounting for less than 2 % of all ruptured sinuses of valsalva.
However, transthoracic echocardiography revealed extrinsic compression of the main
pulmonary artery causing turbulent blood flow.
