The artificial puzzolan was of great interest to all of the experts, and the best result was presented by General Treussart (1838b) with his essays on the burning of white clay from the deposit close to Cologne (used in the 19th century for the production of pipes).
His main research interests include building materials and concrete technology, cement, puzzolans.
