Pycnogonida is a relatively small, exclusively marine group of invertebrates that includes more than 1,300 species (Bamber et al., 2017); living from shallow shores to deep abyssal trenches, and found in both marine and estuarine habitats, but not known from freshwater (Child, 1992).
