Spanish colonial style

Spanish overseas imperial furniture of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries made chiefly in Mexico City, Lima, Bogotá, and Quito though Cuba and the Philippines were also major producer colonies. European in form, but often with Indian carving and a more lavish use of silver, mother-of-pearl, and other ornament than at home. Mexico continued the desornamentado style, while Peru remained faithful to baroque.
