In this study, Mandarin Ducks spent a similar proportion of their time foraging as the Ferruginous Pochard Aythya nyroca (Muzaffar, 2004), and less than that of the Tundra Bean Goose Anser fabalis (64%) (Liu, 2011), Swan Goose Anser cygnoides (60.2%) (Zhang, 2009), and Tundra Swan (30.52%) (Shao et al., 2018).
It is a habitat for endangered migratory birds, including the red-crowned crane, hooded crane and swan goose.
Though the breed's history is not clearly documented, it's thought the African goose is a relative of the Chinese goose, both having descended from the wild swan goose of Asia.
