synchronous rotation

n.
The rotation of an orbiting body on its axis in the same amount of time as it takes to complete a full orbit, with the result that the same face is always turned toward the body it is orbiting. Earth's moon exhibits synchronous rotation. Also called captured rotation, tidally locked rotation.

It is in synchronous rotation with Earth - meaning the same side is always facing the Earth.
Tidally-locked bodies, such as the Earth and moon, are in synchronous rotation, meaning that each takes exactly as long to rotate around its own axis as it does to revolve around its host star or gravitational partner.
BEIJING, , Dhu-AlQa'dah 26, 1436, September 10, 2015, SPA -- Because Earth and the Moon are locked in synchronous rotation, only one half of the lunar surface faces the Earth.
The valveless function is accomplished by the synchronous rotation and reciprocation of the ceramic piston within a precisely mated ceramic liner.
Astronomers have long seen this effect on the planet Venus, where the atmosphere's influence is so powerful that it forces the planet out of synchronous rotation into a slow retrograde rotation.
"Atmosphere is a key factor affecting a planet's spin, the impact of which can be of enough significance to overcome synchronous rotation and put a planet in a day-night cycle."
If the system's motors rotate with a deviation from the reference value, resistances are input with certain higher or lower values, which allows, depending on the actual operation mode, aligning the speeds for synchronous rotation of drives and leading them to the rated operation mode in accordance with the set operation program [3].
This new timepiece captures the shape and dimensionality of time through the synchronous rotation of circular motions.
The moon is in synchronous rotation, which means it rotates about its axis in about the same time it takes to orbit the earth.
