These endeavors have produced the largest and most well documented sample of Late Mississippian ceramics in the Lower
Tallapoosa River Valley.
The goal of our analysis was to better understand prehistoric Native American habitation in the Upper Chattahoochee and Little
Tallapoosa river valleys by assigning dates of occupation to each of the archaeological sites recorded in the survey.
Antioch Church was located in Mount Meigs, the Bethel Church in Pintlala, the Elim Church in Madison Park, and the Rehoboth Church in the southern edge of Elmore County across the

Tallapoosa River drainage in Alabama and Georgia; and portions of the Coosa River drainage in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.
