Wollemi Pine, an Australian tree only discovered in 1994 but thought to date back 90 million years.
How about the famous Dinosaur tree, or
Wollemi Pine, which was rediscovered in 1994 having only appeared in the fossil record two million years ago?
Gillard informed Mukherjee that she was gifting two saplings of
Wollemi Pine for the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The tree, named the
Wollemi Pine, was only known through fossilised remains - and thought to be extint.
The
Wollemi Pine found in canyon forest near the Blue Mountains, New South Wales, is also from the Age of Dinosaurs and can be traced back around 40 million years ago!

Wollemi Pine Grove and guided photographic excursions.
