The purpose of this article, then, is to examine how the air mobility C2 enterprise might adapt its organizational structure to increase the speed of information flow between the globally minded 618th AOC and the regionally focused
air mobility divisions (AMD).

Air Forces Central's
Air Mobility Division Aerial Port Control Center at Al Udeid, Qatar, which executes policy and operations for intratheater airlift support.
The equipment is called Deployable
Air Mobility Division Communications Element or DACE.
They have formal roles on the Air Force forces (AFFOR) staff, in the Joint or combined air operations center (JAOC/CAOC) operations assessment team and
air mobility division, and in A4.
CJ-4 Air coordinates all intratheater airlifts in support of operations throughout the region, serving as the primary cargo planner, and ensuring proper coordination takes place among requesting units,
Air Mobility Division (AMD), and CENTCOM Deployment Distribution Operations Center (CDDOC).
The DIRMOBFOR serves as the designated agent for all air mobility issues in the AOR or JOA, and for other duties as directed." (21) However, because the DIRMOBFOR represents the commander of Air Force forces rather than the joint force air component commander, the director must work with the AOC's commander and its
air mobility division for intratheater airlift operations.
The summer of 2008 brought with it a novel experience--that of being a combat analyst in the
air mobility division (AMD) of the combined air and space operations center (CAOC).
As well, the CDDOC has partnered with the Director, Mobility Forces and
Air Mobility Division in the Combined Air Operations Center in implementing a "hub and spoke" concept of airlift in OIF.
