It has 9 %
allotriomorphic ferrite (the white features outlining prior austenite grain boundaries), with some Widmanstatten side plates also along prior austenite boundaries, and the remainder appears to be acicular ferrite.
The granite displays medium-grained, hypidiomorphic to, less commonly,
allotriomorphic, subequigranular to equigranular, and sparingly granophyric fabric.
Petrographically identical samples of so-called "Silasia granite" were medium-grained biotite granite with
allotriomorphic grains (quartz, feldspar) with the exception of biotite (hypidiomorphic) and directionless structure.
The potassium feldspar, which consists of orthose and microcline, is intensely weathered and has an
allotriomorphic texture and albitised pertites.
This inequigranular (to subequigranular) rock is hypidiomorphic to
allotriomorphic. Perthitic alkali feldspar (41-42%), quartz (40-42%), and plagioclase (2-3%) are their essential constituents while biotite, garnet, muscovite, apatite, sphene, and zircon are the commonly occurring accessory minerals.
The metallographic analysis showed us that the microstructure after thixoforming consists of polyhedral austenite grains which are bordered by
allotriomorphic carbide structure after deformation.
It consists of plagioclase, quartz, and less abundant orthoclase in
allotriomorphic granular texture with less than 5% chlorite (after biotite).
