W e found a statistically significant correlation between Ki67 LI and pial/cortical and
arachnoidal invasion.
Meningiomas consist of neoplastic meningothelial cells (
arachnoidal) and represent approximately 36 percent of all intracranial neoplasms that usually occur in the sixth-seventh decade.
During embryogenesis, when
arachnoidal cells that are present in the sheaths of nerves or vessels emerge through the skull foramina, the then displaced Pacchionian bodies are detached, pinched off, or entrapped in an extracranial location.
In particular, CNPD can lead to clot absorption and negative pressure in the vicinity of
arachnoidal wounds, which accelerates CSF leakage and adversely affects
arachnoidal wound repair.
They arise from the
arachnoidal cells, and are typically attached to the inner surface of the duramater.
The
arachnoidal villi, which are capped by the
arachnoidal cells, may stretch into the sulci and the brain parenchyma along with the pia mater.
The Liliequist membrane, which separated from the supratentorial cisterns, is an
arachnoidal structure and could not be detected on computed tomography (CT).
As there is persistence of fistulous communication between primitive pia
arachnoidal arteries and plial veins which cross each other at right angles at later stages of development leading to the malformation.
Arachnoid cysts do occur in the sellar region and are histologically identical to those located elsewhere in the central nervous system, with a fibrotic strip associated with variable numbers of
arachnoidal cells.
In this report, severe
arachnoidal scarring (that is named as armored arachnoiditis) that made clipping of anterior communicating (ACom) aneurysm impossible in our case of study is presented.
