John Passheley, a broiderer, was one of several parishioners who stepped in to thwart John Kirkeham, catchpoll of London, from dragging a sanctuary man from St Martin's; Kirkeham got his revenge by suing a false trespass against Passheley.
A group of local ladies, the Brandon Broiderers, led by Joy Stanton together with Wolston St Margaret's Primary School, have been working on the textile for seven months Joy, who lives in Brandon and is chair of the local history group, said: "I was inspired by a textile I saw at Stretton-on-Dunsmore and thought it would be nice to create something for the local community." She talked with two other ladies from the history group, Lyn Warner, a designer who planned the nished textile, and Margaret Annetts, about producing their own tapestry based on historical places of interest in Brandon.
