The leaves of the mango trees were majorly elliptic in shape (62.8%) with an obtuse leaf base shape (84.9%), an entire leaf margin (77.9%) and
chartaceous texture (68.6%).
It is a decumbent aromatic herb, up 20cm tall, with
chartaceous leaves, flowers with a green calyx and purple corolla (OLIVEIRA et al., 2011).
Young stems and abaxial foliar surfaces with well developed, 0.2-1 mm long, wooly, dendritic, rusty brown hairs with well developed axis and moderate number of terete short to moderately long arms (Wurdack 1980, indumentum type 26), persistent; Mature leaves of each pair equal in size, 3.5-5.5 x (8)-11.5-(13) cm, elliptic-lanceolate, cuspidate apically and acute to obtuse basally, 5-nerved, secondary lateral veins 1-2 mm distant
chartaceous to coriaceous, entire, with broadly revolute margins, brownish green and glabrous adaxially, pale rusty-brown abaxially; petioles 18-30 (35) mm long and 1.5-2.5 mm diameter; petiole length to lamina length 1:(2.2)-2.5-(4); lamina length to width (1.7)-2-(3.9):1.
Lower glume 3-4 x 0.5-0.7 mm, slightly concave, lanceolate,
chartaceous, margins glabrous, 2nerved, acute apex; upper glume 2.6-3.1 x 0.7-1 mm,
chartaceous, margins glabrous, 3-nerved, the lateral nerves tenuous, acute apex.
Leaf erect-arching,
chartaceous, light green, narrowly elliptic, obtuse, oblique and emarginated at apex, 4.7-10 x 1-1.2 cm; the base sub-petiolate and conduplicate.
The wings are
chartaceous, distally attenuate and crenate, pubescent, with simple subparallel venation oriented transverse to the fruit body and radiating toward the distal margins of the wings.
16 x 10 cm, subdensely and minutely white-lepidote on both sides, thinly coriaceous, abaxially dark castaneous mainly toward the base, adaxially purplish at the apex and pale colored toward the base; blades sublinear, slightly narrowed toward the apex, 1718 x 6-6.5 cm, not narrowed at the base, apex rounded to subacute and minutely apiculate, greenish-glaucous with darker green irregular cross-veins mainly by transmitted light,
chartaceous, sparsely and inconspicously white-lepidote and covered on both sides by a thin layer of white wax, apical margins not revolute.
If we were to experience the cognitive orientation suggested at the outset, one of the episodes would be to witness and savor the particularities of what could be termed the "
chartaceous diffractions" of the Canzoniere (the multiple versions that make up the evolution of the work).
chartaceous blade and absent scales in subsection Tenuifolia).
