He stressed his deep concern that these organizations would increase reliance on "lone wolf" operations, and he called upon the all counter-terrorism bodies in the Arab states to be aware of the threat of
chemical terrorism. The conference also discussed member states' experiences in this field, to allow the exchange of the best practices among the Arab states.
As part of an effort to assess potential
chemical terrorism pathways last year, the authors surveyed over 80 issues of the above titles.
Based on the systematic reviews, more primary studies are needed on 1) soil abatement and other lead hazard control interventions; 2) community-level interventions on dissemination of water contamination data; 3) regulatory interventions to reduce toxic exposure to pesticides; and 4) interventions for the prevention, detection, and response to
chemical terrorism. Given the quality of the literature on the prevention of toxic exposure to chemicals, better-quality research is needed, including stronger study designs, the use of suitable comparison groups, and agreed-upon outcome measures.
