The purity of
circular polarization is characterized by axial ratio.
Instead of using linearly polarized antennas, Kajiwara (14) shows that
circular polarization (CP) would help reduce multipath-fading effects more significantly.
All polarizations fall into the general category of elliptical polarization, the general case of which linear and
circular polarizations are limiting cases.
This revealed
circular polarization at the base of the quasar's blobby jet.

The right-handed
circular polarization (RHCP) radiation can be obtained by placing the feeding point at the right bottom corner and the L-shaped slot at the left bottom corner.
An elliptical DRA with a
circular polarization bandwidth of 3.5% has been investigated using a single-probe feed [7].
Roy Caldwell of the University of California, Berkeley, suspected that one species of mantis shrimp, Odontodactylus cultrifer, might be able to distinguish
circular polarizations. Animals in this species, especially adult males, are rare.
Asymmetries associated with the [[right arrow].n] + p [right arrow] d + [gamma] reaction itself include effects of a small
circular polarization of the gamma rays, and a left-right asymmetry arising from the correlation [s.sub.n] * ([k.sub.[gamma]] X [k.sub.n]), where [s.sub.n] is the neutron spin direction, [k.sub.[gamma]] and [k.sub.n] are the gamma ray and neutron propagation directions respectively--both have been examined and will lead to false asymmetries at the [10.sup.-10] level or smaller in the [A.sub.[gamma]] measurement.
Measurements of azimuth and elevation can be made using two channels with phase while sweeping frequency; this allows for measurement of cross polarization,
circular polarization and axial ratio.
The star-forming region called Orion Molecular Cloud 1 exhibited a right-handed
circular polarization of up to 17% in the near-infrared emission.
