For example, in one place, she translates communis diffamator vcinorum as "common defamer of his neighbors"; in another, communis diffamatrix vicinorum suorum as "common scold." Perhaps there is something in the context of the record, other than the difference in gender, that justifies translating this second example as "scold" rather than simply "defamer" (defamation was another common speech crime in this period), but this context is lost on the reader.
