The World Bank on Wednesday June 12 announced a 15-month
debarment of China-based Dongfang Electronics Co.
Washington, DC-headquartered World Bank has confirmed the two-year
debarment of French water engineering company OTV and one-year
debarment of Brazilian water treatment technology company Veolia Water Technologies Brasil, both part of the wider Veolia group, after it emerged that the firms had followed fraudulent and collusive practices during a bidding process under the World Bank-financedRE[degrees]o BogotEi Environmental Recuperation and Flood Control Projectin Colombia, making both companies ineligible to participate in future World Bank-financed projects.
Manduku said the
debarment had ended by the time the tender was awarded in October last year.
"We however sought clarification, and the company had already declared the
debarment issue, which was in line with tender conditions.
Suspension and
debarment officials across the federal government regularly require monitors and they are not subject to the new policy.
'Cross
debarment is an agreement among the African Development Bank Group, Asian Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank Group (referred to as Multilateral Development Banks) to mutually enforce each other's
debarment actions, with respect to the four harmonized sanctionable practices, i.e.
Sources further stated that NA special committee was also informed few days earlier that several undeserving and unauthorized people got allotment of rooms in respective hostel as most the persons belonged to an investigating
debarment.
The World Bank (WB) has announced the
debarment of Belgium-based medical device company Eckert and Ziegler BEBIG s.a.
Corruption watchdogs in other countries protested their governments' contracts with CCCC and its subsidiaries, citing the World Bank
debarment.
"After his
debarment, Skiscim allegedly continued to bid, contract, and supply defective airplane parts to the federal government through a series of shell companies using the names of relatives and fictitious people to mask his involvement from the United States Department of Defense, Defense Logistics Agency," the complaint included.
