This article aims to describe the use of multiplanar reconstruction, volumetric computed tomography reconstruction, rapid prototyping and 3D printing of opossum head to create a biomodel to veterinary education in descriptive anatomy of wild animals.
The scientists' findings have been written up for the 2019 paper 'Descriptive anatomy of the largest known specimen of Protoichthyosaurus prostaxalis (Reptilia: Ichthyosauria) including computed tomography and digital reconstruction of a three-dimensional skull' by Dean Lomax, Dr Laura Porro and Nigel Larkin.
