Iandar presents the first biography of her friend Dink, an Armenian intellectual of Turkey, a journalist and political activist who was targeted for his views and assassinated in front of his newspaper's offices in Istanbul in January 2007.
Dink, 52, was shot dead with two bullets to the head in broad daylight outside the offices of Agos on January 19, 2007 in Turkey's most notorious murder of recent times.
Security officials failed to protect Dink despite warnings of a plot to kill him and the subsequent legal process exposed widespread structural problems and the need for reforms, the report said.
Its title not only a gambling reference but a cheeky sexual reference, "Lay the Favorite" finds Dink struggling to avoid doing just that, and he winds up firing Beth on Tulip's orders.
Dink sues producer Punky Solomon and backer Manny Gold for the credit and royalties to the song and in the process is thrown into a reprise of the past turning up facts and bitter truths--of why Anna held back her answer to Dink's marriage proposal on a New York rooftop--and what really killed her.
