(Biology) ecology a group of organisms within a species that is adapted to particular environmental conditions and therefore exhibits behavioural, structural, or physiological differences from other members of the species
Morphological attributes: The data for ten quantitative traits was recorded from each plot of RCBD for randomly selected plants of each ecotype. Date of seedling emergence (50% germination), date of flowering (50% flowers bloomed), date of seed maturity (90% maturity) were recorded by single value for each ecotype while pods/plant in cm from ten plants and leaf area in cm2 were analyzed from leaves of ten randomly selected plants of each type.
In this study, we investigated the diversity and phylogeography of four geographic ecotype populations of the Naqu yak (133 individuals) using an 811-bp mitochondrial DNA D-loop region sequence.
In the previous work, we have revealed the ecological variation, ecotype differentiation, and formation of traditional Chinese medicinal materials, and we applied them in American ginseng [7, 8] and made the regional suitability evaluation on desert Herb Cynomorii [9].
Nevertheless, considering the scarcity of information on killer whales from Brazilian waters and the great behavioral flexibility of the species in a global scale (De Bruyn et al., 2013), it seems premature to classify the killer whales of this region in any specific ecotype.
Data processing and analyses.--We derived the following variables from field data on orthopterans: (a) species richness; (b) total density of orthopterans (specimens/[m.sup.2]); (c) total density of nymphs (specimens/[m.sup.2]); (d) Shannon diversity; (e) life-form spectra; (f) ecotype spectra.
Finally, we derived 30-year (1981-2010) time series of seasonal average temperature and rainfall for all ecotype and all greater districts, respectively.
