Doctors discovered that Catherine had something called an
epidermoid brain tumour, which is present in around in only 0.8% of all brain tumour cases, though the diagnosis and subsequent treatment was allegedly deemed non-urgent.
The technology can help dermatologists identify and treat five skin conditions that were previously difficult to diagnose, including basal cell carcinoma (the most common form of skin cancer), melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma (also known as
epidermoid carcinoma), nevus or seborrheic keratoses (common skin lesions that have been shown to occur more with age).
The man was diagnosed with
epidermoid cysts, which are caused by build-ups of fluid or semi-fluid substances in sacs of skin.
The former, named dermoid and
epidermoid cysts, are always lined by squamous epithelium, with or without skin appendages.

On microscopic examination, the connective tissue stroma showed the presence of atypical
epidermoid and mucous cells, arranged in the form of a ductal island, cords, and strands.
Among benign lesions, Dermoid cyst,Capillary Hemangioma,
Epidermoid Inclusion cyst, Squamous cell Papilloma , Pterygium Sebaceous Cyst, Simple cyst were most common lesions comprising of 28 (10%), 11 (4%), 8 (3%), 8 (3%), 7 (2.5%), 5 (2%), 5 (2%) respectively.
Although the majority of intratesticular masses are malignant, a probable diagnosis of various benign intratesticular mass lesions, including lipoma, tubular ectasia of the rete testis (TERT),
epidermoid cyst, hematoma, segmental testicular infarction, fibrosis and granulomatous orchitis based on imaging findings may improve patient management and reduce the number of unnecessary radical surgical explorations.
Other cellular variants include oncocytic,
epidermoid and pigmented variants with melanocytes and melanin pigment in the cells and macrophages.2 Histologic features of poor circumscription, large size, solid sheet-like growth pattern, necrosis, and vascular and lymphatic invasion, pleomorphism, and high mitotic rate are suggestive of malignant nodular hidradenoma or hidradenocarcinoma.
However, it has many health effects, including recurrent urinary and vaginal infections, chronic pain, infertility, haemorrhaging,
epidermoid cysts, and difficult labour.
