The gingival reactive hyperplastic lesions are commonly described as "epulides," which is a Greek word, means "on the gingiva." However, this commonly used term is only describing lesions clinically present on the gingiva without specifying the nature of the lesion [1, 2].
Oral cavity in dogs has been reported to be affected by various proliferative lesions ranging from epulides, squamous cell carcinoma, malignant melanoma and fibrosarcoma (Baker et al., 1993).
