There were three groups of participants: women in the
fertile phase of their cycle, women in the nonfertile phase of their cycle, and men.
During the
fertile phase of their cycle, women experience perceptual and preference shifts related to sexual interest and mating (e.g., Gangestad, Thornhill, & Garver-Apgar, 2002; Haselton & Gangestad, 2006).
Owing to its weaker ovulation-delaying mechanism, LNG is only 30-40% effective in those who are exposed during the
fertile phase, again because it is not effective after ovulation has occurred.
We therefore excluded women with missing data concerning their
fertile phase and 9 women with their
fertile phase right at the time of the administration of the questionnaire (between day 10 and 17, Wilcox, Dunson, & Baird, 2000) because mating preferences are influenced by fertility (Gangestad, Thornhill, & Garver-Apgar 2010).
In particular, women in the

fertile phase.
Saad and Stenstrom (2009) found that women reported engaging in greater appearance-related product usage on
fertile phase days than on luteal days.
How provocatively they dress, whether they wear high heels, how they wear their hair, how much skin they show ends up being perfectly correlated to whether or not they are in the
fertile phase. So there are two examples--testosterone in one case and the menstrual cycle in one case--that demonstrate how our hormones affect our behaviors as consumers.
With the help of charts and thorough discussion, Bly illustrated the four phases of a women's monthly cycle: the menses phase, the "early dry days," the
fertile phase, and the luteal phase.
Montel's arrival as associate director of Twyla Tharp Productions in 2003 launched a new
fertile phase in the licensing of her dances.
"Men judge the smell of a T-shirt worn by the woman during

A woman is more likely to have sex with her lover during the
fertile phase of her cycle and with her partner when least fertile.
However, why do you feel that the ONLY time you can make love is during your
fertile phase? Why can't you do it at other times as well?
