Summary: TEHRAN (FNA)- Spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi underlined that the nuclear enrichment facility at Fordo in Central Iran continues operation.
TEHRAN, May 27 (KUNA) -- Iran is able to resume 20-percent uranium enrichment at Fordo nuclear facility in maximum two or three days, Spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Behrouz Kamalvandi said on Sunday.
State news agencies report that Russian-made S300 PMU2 missile defense systems have been deployed at the underground Fordo uranium enrichment plant against any possible US or Israeli attack by plane, missile or UAV.
The country has two facilities, at Natanz and Fordo. Under yesterday's Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, enrichment will be limited at Natanz for 10 years and not permitted at Fordo for 15 years.
This includes possible changes in the design of an unfinished reactor at Arak so that it produces less weapons-grade plutonium, enhanced UN inspections, and alterations to Iran's fortified Fordo facility.
The P5+1 grouping is particularly worried about Iran's enrichment to levels of up to 20 percent and the Fordo fortified bunker where this activity is conducted.
