We retrospectively reviewed the grade of residual mitral re gurgitation assigned following successful mitral valve repair ('mild' or less residual re gurgitation) by intraoperative transoesophageal echocardiography and compared it to the observed grade of mitral regurgitation seen at follow-up transthoracic echocardiography.
