We've gained a lot of information that has helped us through homeschooling and
homesteading. I have thought many times to write, but never took the time to do so.

Homesteading Education Month this September.
Homestead Heritage is a working farm that annually attracts more than 40,000 people through various programs: a school of
homesteading, a school of woodworking, a traditional crafts village, a handworked-furniture company, organic gardens, orchards and livestock, a general store, and the famous Homestead Farms Dell & Bakery serving fresh-baked bread, fresh butter, grassfed beef, artisan cheeses, homemade ice cream and other treats from the farm.
With that goal in mind, MOTHER EARTH NEWS and our sister magazine GRIT invite you to participate as we host International
Homesteading Education Month this September.
Although it's possible to homestead solo, and there are many o can and do, I suspect for the majority of homesteaders it is by necessity a shared enterprise of many hands and complimentary skill sets that most efficiently provides the benefits of a
homesteading life.
He leans forward and speaks a little faster, his 20-year passion for the
homesteading era shining through, as he describes how just-right circumstances brought homesteaders flooding into Montana for a decade.
Historically,
homesteading has been a rural enterprise, but the version that is emerging in the 21st century is not exclusive to the country.
Because I believe that
homesteading is important, that it fosters the creativity and freedom that America needs to meet the challenges of our uncertain future, I spend time thinking about ways to make
homesteading more successful.
I have observed the modern
homesteading movement from primarily the perspective of a planning consultant and builder.
And this new wave of
homesteading is not just about learning to make do with less.
Besides the work required in
homesteading, we see two major obstacles for many people who would like to be doing what we're doing.
