A pilot double blind RCT investigated an ethanolic Hypericum extract (900 mg three times daily) vs placebo in 47 perimenopausal breast cancer survivors aged 40 to 65 years experiencing three or more
hot flushes per day (Al-Akoum 2009).
Although they may present concurrently with
hot flushes, they may have different mechanisms of origin.
