The glossopharyngeal nerve emerges between the inferior olive and the
inferior cerebellar peduncle (Rubin & Safdieh, 2007; Snell, 2014).
Fifth patient with cerebellar signs, showed abnormal high intensity in both
inferior cerebellar peduncle. Sixth patient with right arm weakness, had bilatereal subcortical white matter hyperintense signal lesions.
Damage to the cerebellum or the
inferior cerebellar peduncle causes ataxia.
