adj.
1. That cannot be dissolved: insoluble matter.
2. Difficult or impossible to solve or explain; insolvable: insoluble riddles.

[Middle English insolible, from Latin īnsolūbilis : in-, not; see in-1 + solvere, to loosen; see soluble.]
