The edge is then trimmed with
iridectomy scissors to the edge of the pupil.
A 2-3 mm-thick flat slice containing the statocyst was cut and trimmed with dissecting and
iridectomy scissors along the sagittal or the tentacular plane, depending on the desired plane of tilting of the statocyst.
Dr Hartmann, a Paris ophthalmologist, actually found therein the cause of his eye troubles (Ellmann 1982), which were not late in coming, so that an
iridectomy was performed in 1917.
Embryos were removed from the individual yolk sac using
iridectomy scissors and hearts from the 6 and 12-week-old mice were excised.
The contraindications for canaloplasty include (1) angle-closure glaucoma; (2) narrow-angle glaucoma (even if some eyes can be still considered after a laser or surgical
iridectomy); (3) neovascular glaucoma; (4) posttraumatic glaucoma; (5) eyes with interruption or damage to Schlemm's canal due to previous ocular surgery or extensive laser trabeculoplasty with peripheral anterior synechiae; (6) ocular hypertension due to an increased episcleral venous pressure; and (7) other forms of secondary glaucomas.
These surgeries included phacoemulsification, extracapsular cataract extraction (ECCE) with intraocular lens implantation, trabeculectomies, pterygium excision with conjunctival auto-grafting,
iridectomy, anterior chamber (AC) wash, secondary intraocular lens (IOL) and iris reposition.
* Sometimes a surgical peripheral
iridectomy must be performed if the iridotomy is too small and not functioning.
The most commo type of
iridectomy is usually done to treat acute glaucoma, where the pressure in the eyeball is too high.
(5) Treatment may include a surgical procedure, such as paracentesis of the eye, peripheral iridotomy, or
iridectomy, and chronic administration of topical medication.

iridectomy: Influence of natural convection on the human eye," WIT Tr Biomed Health, Vol.
* A peripheral
iridectomy is taken, removing a portion of the iris to help the circulating aqueous fluid pass more easily through the new pathway and out of the eye.
Iridectomy of small masses or enucleation of painful eyes are the therapeutical options.
