Oval macrogamete with coarse oval pigment granules was seen.

The microgamete (male gametocyte) fertilizes the macrogamete (female gametocyte) in the intestinal cells to form zygotes (fusion of gametes).
Since we had not observed free microgametes and the oocysts did not sporulate, we assume no fertilization of the macrogamete took place.
