manipulative therapies

A group of therapies in which practitioners use their hands to bring about positive changes in a person’s physique and which include the Alexander Technique, bone setting, chiropractic, the Feldenkrais method, kinesiology, the laying on of hands, massage, osteopathy, polarity therapy, reflexology, rolfing, therapeutic touch and traction.

I just recently read a research paper in the Journal of Manipulative Therapies where the participants were put on a water-only diet for 11 days.
(4) These figures are based on a definition of alternative therapies that includes all nutritional supplements, herbal medicines, acupuncture, mind-body therapies and manipulative therapies. Taking out nutritional supplements, the growth has still been remarkable and the trends are similar elsewhere in the world.
