Maxillary nerve is a branch of the trigeminal, which provides sensory information to the skin of the upper lips and nostrils, as well as the soft and hard palate, upper teeth, gingiva and maxilla (DELLMANN & MCCLURE, 2008; PERRY et al., 2015).
A common cause of chronic facial pain syndrome is trigeminal neuralgia, which can be alleviated by injecting the superficial branches of the nerve, such as the supraorbital, infraorbital, and mental nerves, and deep injection of the maxillary nerve in the pterygopalatine fossa and/or the mandibular nerve posterior to the lateral pterygoid plate [1].
A previous research paper used GPC to give a maxillary nerve blockin the superior aspect of the pterygopalatine fossa [2], while another research study inserted the needle at a lower level inside pterygopalatine fossa [9].
Tumor was firm, necrotic, moderately vascular, and grayish white (Figure 2(a)) and found arising from the maxillary nerve. Tumour was found to be arising from the left maxilla, breaching it's posterior wall and floor of orbit, extending into the retroorbital portion of orbit through the superior orbital fissure into the left temporal lobe.
To exclude the influence of the parameters which seem to be visible excellent or well independent from the applied dosage (lamina papyracea at the level of anterior ethmoidal artery, canal of the optical nerve, canal of the vidian nerve, canal of the maxillary nerve, nasolacrimal duct, and posterior wall of the frontal sinus), a selected mean of the remaining parameters was calculated.
This nerve is a branch of infraorbital nerve, a branch of maxillary nerve, in the second division of the trigeminal nerve.

The infraorbital nerve is sensory and it lengthens the maxillary nerve, which crosses the infraorbital foramen and branches to supply the skin over the upper portion of the cheek, maxillary sinus mucosa, maxillary incisor, canine, premolar teeth, adjacent gum portion, skin over the lower eye lid, conjunctiva, part of the nose, part of the skin and mucosa of the upper lip.
Its name "trigeminal" means triplets, that is with a common origin, deriving from the fact that it has three major branches: the ophthalmic nerve (V1), the maxillary nerve (V2) and the mandibular nerve (V3)2.
