When a kidney biopsy is performed in this setting, the usual histological findings on kidneys are acute tubular necrosis, hypertensive nephroangiosclerosis, and signs of CNIs toxicity [1].
The diagnoses were as follows: six patients had chronic glomerulonephritis, six had nephroangiosclerosis, four had chronic renal insufficiency, three had uric acid nephropathies, three had Good-Pasture syndrome, two had renal calculosis, two had vesicoureteral reflux, one had hypertension, one had atrophia renis segmentalis, one had lupus nephritis, one had endemic nephropathy, one had chronic pyelonephritis, one had renal tuberculosis, and one had renal vasculitis.
Tubules did not show microsystic tubular dilatation and there were no established alternations of benign hypertension or accelerated nephroangiosclerosis. Infective pathogens were not seen.
A 64-year-old man (group O) received a first ABOi living unrelated-donor KT for nephroangiosclerosis. The donor was his spouse (group AB).
