30 (Petra) -- The Board of Directors of the Jordan
Petroleum Refinery Company (JOPetrol) has recommended to distribute 20 percent of paid up and stated capital in cash dividends and set April 27th to convene the company's Ordinary General Assembly.
Cumulatively, in first half (July-December) of the current fiscal year, the
petroleum refinery booked a loss of Rs3.01 billion (loss per share of Rs9.78) compared to a profit of Rs145.26 million (earnings per share of Rs0.478) in the same period of last year.
While Coal production increased by 10.6 percent,
Petroleum Refinery production by 1.3 percent, Steel production by 2.2 percent, Cement production by 18.4 percent and Electricity generation increased by 11.4 percent in October.
Speaking during a panel session on 'Promoting Efficiency and Clean Fuels in African Refining and Petrochemicals Market' at the Oil Trading and Logistics (OTL) conference in Lagos on Tuesday, Edwin, who was represented by the Director Business Strategy and Optimisation, Dangote Refinery, Mr Srinivas Rachakonda, described the refinery as one of the most strategic socio-economic projects in Nigeria, features the largest single train

'Consequently, local
petroleum refinery production output was also up by 14.2 percent from 36.25 million barrels in the first half of 2017 to 41.38 million barrels,' the DOE added.
The minister said the
petroleum refinery cleaning operations will be finalized by the end of current April and would resume operations immediately.
