prelanding operations
prelanding operations
In amphibious operations, operations conducted between the commencement of the assault phase and the commencement of the ship-to-shore movement by the main body of the amphibious task force. They encompass similar preparations conducted by the advanced force but focus on the landing area, concentrating specifically on the landing beaches and the helicopter landing zones to be used by the main landing force. Prelanding operations also encompass final preparations for the ship-to-shore movement.
