Any of several plants of the genus Eryngium of the parsley family, especially E. yuccifolium of central and eastern North America, once thought effective against rattlesnake venom and having narrow spiny leaves and clusters of small whitish flowers.

A population of approximately 25 individuals of Eryngium yuccifolium, rattlesnake master plants, was discovered in a small prairie opening on the western edge of the property.
