where h is reduced Planck's constant (i.e., h/2[pi]), [m*.sub.n] and [m*.sub.p] are the electron effective mass and hole effective mass, respectively, n and p are the electron concentration in conduction band and hole concentration in valence band, respectively, and q is electron charge.
