We ordered the
stone bass fillet with sweet potato and crayfish quinoa and a pineapple and ginger dressing.
Vegetarian options including falafel and halloumi will also be available, alongside meze such as hummus (PS4), lamb bon bons (PS5.50), octopus (PS6) and paprika fries (PS3) and larger plates including pan fried
stone bass with winter tabbouleh (PS11).
My girlfriend's mixed grill of market fish with haricot beans cassoulet ([pounds sterling]17.95) certainly sounded divine, and the mackerel and
stone bass were cooked extremely well.
A sample menu shows a starter of grilled
stone bass, caramelised cauliflower and lemon with a main course of Surrey beef sirloin, baked celeriac, confit garlic potato, crispy kale and red wine sauce.
Saltwater sashimi of salmon, tuna and
stone bass (I think) was very nice but the
stone bass was not that soft in texture.
There will also be Atlantic pan-roasted
stone bass, samphire, and squid ink tuile.
I went for pan-fried
stone bass, apple and ginger puree, pak choi, pancetta, vanilla and ginger jus.
This includes half a roasted chicken with a piri piri or smokey and sweet chipotle glaze, Cajun blackened supreme
stone bass and prime whole baked Canadian lobster, all served with chunky chips or jacket potato, balsamic onions, roasted tomato, grilled mushrooms and a choice of sauce.
At The Dining Room dishes on offer will include crispy and poached langoustine, confit chicken wings, curry scented
stone bass, and cannon of lamb.
Focusing on fresh and seasonal ingredients, signature dishes include the beef wellington,
stone bass carpaccio, Shepard's pie and of course, fish and chips.
From goat's cheese panna cotta and quail for starters we went on to have
stone bass and succulent 40-day aged Waterford beef, before tucking into an assiette of desserts.
For main course, I enjoy
stone bass served on a delicious lobster risotto, while my better half tucks into perfectly cooked scallops with smoked chicken.
