The two airlines will introduce the marshals on flights for a six-month
test period. The move follows demands from the US government to place plain-clothed guards on selected flights to and from the US as a precaution against hijackings.
The contract covers tourist information services based on interactive voice response (IVR) and SMS, and is to be executed during the fourth quarter, beginning with a
test period.
Recently Southern Company, a large electric utility in the southeastern United States, successfully completed a similar test in Gadsden, Alabama, with switchgrass contributing 7-10% of the energy produced during the
test period.
The current
test period involving up to five new registrars, along with NSI, expired on Friday, August 6 and the new agreement will see the
test period run through September 10.
These procedures are available for requests made during a two-year
test period beginning on Nov.

The news comes 101 days into what was originally supposed to be a 60-day
test period. It was extended by three weeks to July 16 recently by the Department of Commerce.
