In the investigation of the shrinkage properties of rubberized concrete pavement, results obtained showed that samples prepared with 20% and 25% rubber in concrete gave a good performance at
water cement ratio 0.45 and 0.40 respectively (Mohammadi, Khabbaz 2015).

The strength of the grouted soils increased with a decrease of the
water cement ratio.
Mixes with low
water cement ratio gain strength more rapidly than those with higher

Water cement ratio for all concrete mixes was kept as 0.55.
The M25 concrete mix was designed with the
water cement ratio of 0.43 as per ACI 211-1-91 standard.
"Usually, a ready-mix concrete producer will over-cement to compensate for water in the fine aggregates that was not taken into account when calculating the
water cement ratio," said David Serra, the company's international sales manager.
The influences are investigated in this paper of
water cement ratio and cement fineness on the structure of UCN that is underlying the self-healing capacity of concrete.
