The analyzer uses prompt gamma neutron activation analysis (PGNAA) technology to perform a real-time, composite analysis on shredded scrap metal.
Iodine content was measured by neutron activation analysis.
One can see that as stated in the original paper by Jarosewich and Boatner [19], the material is generally very pure based on quantitative results from instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA).
