Speaking of her delight at being selected for the prestigious aerobatics display team, Flight Lieutenant Kirsty Moore, 32, said her father Robbie Stewart was a retired Tornado navigator.
The aerobatic display team's website said Tkachenko was 45, was married with a son and daughter, and had been an aerobatics pilot since 1989 with more than 1,500 hours of experience flying attack aircraft.
The scholarship was established by the Aviation Law Committee to honor Gainesville attorney and longtime committee member, Eilon Krugman-Kadi, who lost his life while performing aerobatics in his L-39 jet at an airshow in 2007.
